Transdermal Drug Delivery for Insulin: A Review

A B S T R A C T
Transdermal drug delivery systems have been developed in the past few years to overcome the issues of parentals. Transdermal drug delivery system approach will offer a self-management, patient-friendly and efficient route for administration of drug delivery. This review article provides information about types of transdermal patches, anatomical and physiological structure of skin, skin pathways of transdermal drug delivery systems, generations of transdermal drug delivery systems, properties of drugs for TDDS, properties influencing transdermal patches, evaluation of insulin transdermal patches, application of transdermal patches, advantages and disadvantages of transdermal patches.
