The present study was aimed to investigate anti ulcer activity of poly herb (Terminalia chebula, Cassia angustifolia, Foeniculum vulgare, Zingiber officinale) by using various ulcer induced agents in rats. Peptic ulcer is the most common disease. Many drugs are there in market to treat the ulcer, but they are having lot of adverse effects. In the present theory, using Poly Herb proved that these are the effective alternatives for chemical drugs. When the results are compared, the Poly Herb showed better activity in ethanol induced than in aspirin and histamine induced ulcers. The anti-ulcer activity of poly herb is having significant activity by using various ulcer induced agents in rats as compared to the standard drug omeprazole.
Keywords: Terminalia chebula, Cassia angustifolia, Foeniculum vulgare, Peptic ulcer, anti-ulcer activity, omeprazole.
