Phytochemical analysis had become a vital aspect in screening of valuable phytoconstituents. The process of discovering and developing phytocompounds as anti inflammatory and anti oxidants by evaluation using biochemical and cell based assays resulted in revealing therapeutic compounds with high therapeutic index. Phytochemical analysis of Manilkara Zapota Ethyl acetate leaf extract revealed that it is a rich source of Flavanoids, Triterpenoids and sterols. In-vitro Anti oxidant and Anti inflammatory activities of Manikara Zapota Ethyl acetate leaf extract is evaluated by DPPH, ABTS, NBT, Nitric oxide free radical scavenging assays and HRBC membrane stabilizing method. Manikara zapota Ethyl acetate Leaf extract shown significant Anti oxidant and Anti inflammatory activity.
Keywords: Manilkara Zapota, phytoconstituents, anti inflammatory, anti oxidant, free radical scavenging assays, HRBC membrane stabilizing method.
