Formulation Development and Evaluation of Matrix Tablets of Lornoxicam

Abstract
The present investigation describes the influence of the ratio of HPMC K15M to Guar gum (hydrophilic polymers) and Ethyl cellulose (hydrophobic polymer) on Lornoxicam release from extended release matrix tablets. Lornoxicam matrix tablets were prepared by wet granulation technique. HPMC K15M and Guar gum were used as hydrophilic matrixing polymers and Ethyl cellulose was used as hydrophobic matrixing polymer. Granules were evaluated for flow property and compressibility study. Tablets were evaluated for friability, hardness, thickness, diameter, drug content, average weight and cumulative % drug release
