Baclofen is a centrally- acting skeletal muscle relaxant. It is a derivative of gamma-amino butyric acid (GABA). It is primarily used to treat spasticity and is in the early research stages for use for the treatment of alcoholism. Formulation F8 was the optimized formulation having least disintegration time as well as other parameters was in acceptable range. The precompression parameters like bulk density, tapped density, carr’s index and angle of repose were determined. All the 9 formulations showed acceptable flow properties. The  postcompression parameter of the tablet like hardness,, thickness, friability and weight variation, disintegration time, wetting time and In vitro release were carried out and the values were found to be within the IP limit. The percentage drug content of all the tablets were found to be between 97.12 ± 0.280% and 99.25 ±0.670% of Baclofen, which was within the acceptable limit.
