In-Vitro Anti-Fungal Activity of Leaf Extracts of Artemisia Vulgaris

A B S T R A C T
Medicinal plants are used for the ailment of several microbial and non-microbial originated diseases due to their valuable effects in health care. The affordability, reliability, availability and low toxicity of medicinal plants in therapeutic use has made them popular and acceptable. In the present research work anti pathogenic effect of crude extract of Artemisia vulgaris leaf extract on Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans species was carried out. Plant species of the genus Artemisia (Family: Asteraceae) possess a plethora of bioactivities such as antihelminthic, antiseptic and is even widely used for its anti-inflammatory properties. Anti-Fungal activity was carried out for Ethanol and Chloroform extract of Leaves of Artemisia vulgaris, and the zone of inhibition of the above stated extracts at different concentrations were measured.
