Hydrazones possessing an azometine -NHN=CH– proton constitute an important class of compounds for new drug development. In the present protocol we have synthesized six INH hydrazide-hydrazones by reacting isoniazid with various aldehydes by conventional as well as ultrasound irradiation method. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for antimicrobial activities. Utilization of ultrasound irradiation, simple reaction condition, isolation and purification makes this manipulation very interesting from an economic and environmental perspective.
