Many facets of wound healing under redox control require a delicate balance between oxidative stress and antioxidants which play an important role in the tissue regenerative process of cell repairmen. But in general cases it has been observed that the normal physiology of wound healing depends on low levels of reactive oxygen species and oxidative stress, which has a direct effect on the oxidation process which leads to stress and impaired wound healing. Thus antioxidants are postulated to help to control wound oxidative stress caused by various reasons and thereby accelerate wound healing process. This article will provide an insight to the mechanisms and the various factors which will counter react the process of repairment.

Keywords: Antioxidant, Reactive oxygen species (ROS), Wound healing, oxidative stress.
