In vitro antioxidant activity of methanolic extract of Andrographis paniculata leaves

Abstract
Invitro antioxidant effects of methanolic extracts of Andrographisis paniculata leaves were determined both enzymic activity (catalases, superoxide dismutase, Glutathione reductase, Glutathione-s-tranferase and Glutathione peraoxides) and non enzymic activity (asborbic acid, α-tocopherol, polyphenol, Reducesed Glutathione, Flavinoid and Carotenoids methods). Preliminary phytochemicals screening revealed that the extracts leaves of Andrographis paniculata possess Tannin, Terpennoids, Alkaloids, and Flavonoids materials. The result obtained in the present study indicated that the Andrographis paniculata might be good sources of natural antioxidant.
