The evaluation of antioxidant and antimicrobial capacities of tannins extracted from the branch of Pimpinella battandieri Chabert were studied. The antioxidant investigation has been carried out by two methods: radical scavenging activity (DPPH) and the reducing power. However, the antimicrobial activity was tested with three bacterial strains and three fungi including yeast (Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Salmonella typhimurium ATCC 13311, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC25923, Aspergillus niger 2CA936, Aspergillus flavius NRRL3357 and Candida albicans ATCC1024). Our results exhibit a low antioxidant and antibacterial activities but a very strong antifungal capacities.
